On November 13, 2020, the Faculty of Business Administration, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held a seminar with Marriott Corporation.
Attendees of the seminar included Dr. Vo Hoang Duy - Deputy Secretary of Party Committee, Director of Center of Enterprise Cooperation and Alumni; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Minh Ly - Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration together with the faculty’s lecturers and students.
The speakers of the program were the representatives from the Human Resources Department of 3 Marriott hotels (Renaissance Riverside Sai Gon Hotel, Sheraton Sai Gon Hotel & Towers, and Le Meridien Saigon Hotel), including Ms. Vo Pham Khanh Linh, Ms. Ngo Duong Ngoc Phuong and Ms. Giang Thi Hoang Anh.
The speakers thoroughly shared about the corporate culture as well as internship opportunities, the management trainee program and the recruitment at 3 hotels. This is an opportunity for students to directly gain more work experience in a professional, classy environment; to participate in training courses to improve their professional skills and have a clearer career orientation.
Accordingly, students will have many internships choices and work in many departments such as FO (Reception), FB (Food and Beverage), Sales and Marketing (Business and Communication), Finance (Accounting), etc.
Speaking at the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Minh Ly, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, said: “This is the second year in which the Faculty cooperating with Marriott Corporation to hold seminars in order to share career opportunities for students. Through this event, the Faculty hopes that students can grasp the needs and the recruitment evaluation criteria of the top brands of restaurants and hotels; therefore; students could prepare well and participate in the labor market with the most confident attitude.”
With the aim of improving the quality of training, the Faculty of Business Administration strengthened the connections with enterprises, helping students with more opportunities to approach employers while still in university. Besides the networking activities, the Faculty also regularly organizes internships and observations for students to experience the corporate workplace, in order to perfect both their knowledge and skills.
