On the evening of November 26, 2023, at the Closing Ceremony of the 15th National Student Singing Contest in the Southern region, students from Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) achieved remarkable success by winning multiple high awards in the contest, clinching the First Prize for the entire team.
With a unique blend of traditional and modern expressions, the TDTU student team surpassed 18 other teams from various universities, with 53 performances and over 400 participants to win First Prize for the entire team. In their performance, TDTU students skillfully combined singing and dancing to create a cultural rich space in Eastern traditions. Their performance aligned perfectly with the theme of the 2023 contest, which celebrated love for the homeland, country, schools, teachers, and friends. They also expressed dreams, aspirations, emotions, and responsibilities of students towards themselves, their families, and the community.
In the overall results of the 15th National Student Singing Contest 2023 (S-Music 2023) - Southern Region Round, TDTU students achieved the following awards: First Prize for the entire team, First Prize for the medley “Viet Nam que huong toi - Viet Nam tuoi dep - Viet Nam oi”, and Third Prize for the performance “Mot vong Viet Nam”.
The first-place performance by Ton Duc Thang University will continue to participate in the National Final Round scheduled to take place in Hanoi on December 9-10, 2023.
The National Student Singing Contest is an artistic playground that provides opportunities for students to exchange experience, discover artistic talents, and enhance comprehensive education quality. The contest was first organized in 1991, and over its 14 editions, it has become the largest cultural and artistic activity for students nationwide. It upholds revolutionary traditions, cultivates ethics, ideology and collective consciousness, and promotes the cultural identity of the Vietnamese people for successive generations of young people. This competition is one of many educational activities contributing to the realization of comprehensive education goals for students. Through this contest, TDTU students had the opportunity to show the characteristics of the new generation of students, including calm, confident, united, and talented. Each performance truly became a remarkable and meaningful artistic program dedicated to the general audiences and students from universities and colleges in Ho Chi Minh City in particular.
